at the staffordshire centre for psychological research we conduct socially relevant research that has a positive impact on psychological health. examples include: understanding how to better help people cope with chronic pain; exploring the impact of conspiracy theories on health behaviour; identifying the effect of social norms on health behaviour and attitude change.

we pride ourselves on the applied nature of our research. we are a vibrant community of psychologists with a clear focus on ensuring that our work has meaning for those who we carry out research for, including the academic community, practitioners, policy makers and the wider public.

the centre for health and development (chad) undertakes applied, translational research to improve health and help to reduce health and social inequalities in our local communities. in partnership with stoke-on-trent city council and staffordshire county council, we’ve developed an extensive network of individuals and organisations to tackle local issues.

the c3 centre: creative industries and creative communities engages in research that reflects the search for new conceptual and critical insights into practices used by individual artists, collectives and creative thinkers who are passionate about engaging, interacting and co-creating with their surrounding communities.  we focus on the areas of ceramics, creative industry and creative communities that make 365体育官网impactful through its creative engagements. our research has national and international significance in its application of creative and cultural insights into the local and regional regeneration, the economy, and wellbeing agendas. we apply our research to creative engagement in local settings such as through local art galleries, hardship communities, creative industry business models, emerging film clusters, or the re-emergence of ceramics-oriented communities in stoke-on-trent. although our research is applied mostly in local settings, its application to urban and rural regeneration is recognised as having international significance.
